Dubai, 25th November 2013: Intercoil International, a Kuwaiti owned company, has been honored with the prestigious Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Business Award for exceptional business performance. The company was founded in 1974, by the late Mr. Abbas Ali Al-Hazeem, a pioneering entrepreneur, whose vision was to develop Intercoil into a globally recognised brand, achieving sustainable growth and becoming the market leader in orthopaedic sleep systems in the Middle East.
An initiative of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Award is supported by the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Business Performance Program, with the ultimate aim to foster growth, innovation and best practice in the UAE and promote the competitiveness of UAE businesses. As a first step to becoming internationally recognized, the scope of the award will be expanded, starting from next year, to include businesses in the GCC countries.

With a 40-year track record providing high quality Polyurethane foam, sleep products and furniture across the MENA region, Intercoil International has enjoyed strong and sustainable regional growth over the last decade, becoming one of the leading players in the MENA region. Supplying hospitality clients throughout the region, the company also operates retail outlets in most Middle Eastern countries, including Kuwait.
Over the past 24 months, the company has invested over AED30 million to increase manufacturing capabilities and support its expansion plans into new territories including the CIS countries, South-East-West Africa, Central Asia and Eastern Europe. Intercoil recently announced its first foreign licensing agreement with Kenyan Bobmil Group of Companies, one of the first manufacturing licensee agreements by a UAE-based business to other countries in the world.
Holders of the Dubai Quality Appreciation Certificate, Intercoil was ranked fourth in the Dubai SME 100 2012 and has been awarded the Dubai CSR Label for the last three consecutive years.
