Leading Dubai SME Company demonstrates commitment to sustainability and CSR practice

Dubai, 14th Aug 2013: Intercoil International, the Dubai-based sleep products multinational and one of the leading SME companies in Dubai, has been awarded the Dubai Chamber CSR Label for the third consecutive year.

Ranked number 4 in the Dubai SME Top 100 companies last year, Intercoil International earned the Dubai Chamber CSR Label for 2013 for its continued and progressive efforts in integrating sustainability practices and CSR initiatives throughout its daily business practice. The company is one of only three in the UAE to receive the award for the third time.

H.E. Hamad Buamim, Director General, Dubai Chamber of Commerce & Industry presented the award to Intercoil International’s Managing Director, Hassan Al Hazeem who highlighted the significance of the Dubai Chamber CSR Label for the company: “Corporate social responsibility and sustainable practices are intrinsic elements of the Intercoil International brand and are applied by every member of our team. Some initiatives are small, others big enough to warrant global recognition, but all are done with the purpose of serving our customers, the community, the environment and our nation.”

A leading manufacturer of orthopedic beds and mattresses since 1974, Intercoil is committed to promoting healthy sleep and increasing awareness about the contribution sleep makes to a healthy life. Initiatives carried out by the company include wellness workshops, presentations by leading experts in the fields of nutrition and psychological wellbeing, and collaboration with medical institutions to create specialist products. One of the only companies in the UAE to boast a dedicated quality assurance laboratory, Intercoil is focused on improving and assuring the quality of its products to provide the ultimate benefit to the end user.

A longtime proponent of environmental awareness, Intercoil runs recycling programs through all divisions of the company to ensure the most efficient waste management processes and least impact on the environment.

An active member of the community in providing charity and assistance to the needy, Intercoil is equally active in educational initiatives, providing comprehensive internship programs for college students from both the UAE and abroad.

“Sustainability and corporate social responsibility are elements that need to be incorporated into every part of a business, and embraced by every member of staff on a daily basis,” said Al Hazeem. “Receiving the Dubai CSR Label for a third time is great motivation for every member of the Intercoil team to continue what we are doing and find ways to do it even better.”
